Fender Custom Shop David Gilmour Signature Black Strat NOS – Excellent Condition – COA & Accessories

Some guitars catch your eye before you ever play a note. This 2013 Fender Custom Shop David Gilmour Signature Stratocaster NOS is one of those instruments.

Its rich honey-amber maple neck looks exceptional against the black body and pickguard—a striking example of the unmistakable Black Strat aesthetic. With its original pickups and electronics, original Certificate of Authenticity, and accompanying accessories, this is a beautiful instrument with a sound to match its looks.

WHAT MAKES THIS ONE SPECIAL:

Having seen many David Gilmour Signature Strats, I find the maple neck on this particular guitar especially attractive. The amber color has wonderful depth and warmth, giving the instrument a distinctive presence.

Plugged in, it delivers clear, expressive cleans, a full and articulate response, and a powerful bridge pickup with plenty of authority for soaring leads. To my ears, it is a particularly satisfying example of the Black Strat: beautiful clean tones, strong character, and a bridge position that really sings.

A Gilmour-inspired Black Cat sticker—a black cat with a red outline—adds a personal finishing touch. The sticker is made from high-quality material and can be easily removed without damaging the guitar’s finish if you prefer the classic, undecorated look. It is an added cosmetic detail, not an original factory feature.

CONDITION & PROFESSIONAL INSPECTION:

Excellent overall condition, with light surface scratches and a few small cosmetic marks, primarily visible under close inspection in direct light.

There is one very small indentation on the back of the neck from contact with a guitar stand. It is visible on close inspection, but I cannot feel it when running my hand over the area.

The frets are in excellent condition. The guitar plays beautifully, with an expressive, singing response.

The guitar has been professionally set up and inspected by a luthier, who confirmed its authenticity and original components, including the pickups, internal markings, and “Gilmour NOS” stamp.

ORIGINAL PICKUPS & ELECTRONICS:

The guitar retains its complete original David Gilmour Signature pickup set and factory electronics, with no replacements or modifications.

The signature mini-toggle switch adds the neck pickup to the bridge or bridge-and-middle settings, expanding the tonal options beyond the standard five-way selector.

All three pickups were inspected by a luthier, and DC resistance was measured at all five selector positions:

• Position 1 — Bridge: 13.02 kΩ

• Position 2 — Bridge + Middle: 3.83 kΩ

• Position 3 — Middle: 5.30 kΩ

• Position 4 — Middle + Neck: 2.89 kΩ

• Position 5 — Neck: 6.19 kΩ
