Monumental American Heritage: Steinway & Sons 55" Upright Piano

Presenting an extraordinary piece of 19th-century American musical history: a monumental 55-inch Steinway & Sons upright piano.

Built in 1881, this impressive antique instrument stands at a towering 55 inches in height, accommodating a massive soundboard and extended strings that rival the acoustic projection and rich tone of a grand piano. It is housed in a stately ebonized black cabinet, featuring elegantly curved, carved front legs and classic paneling that exude Victorian-era sophistication. The historic fallboard proudly displays the original "Steinway & Sons. Patent. New York." gold insignia.

Internally, this piano showcases the brand's legendary engineering, featuring a heavy-duty cast-iron plate marked with the "Steinway Foundry Composite Metal Casting" seal alongside its historic 19th-century patent dates. The original serial number (48476) is authentically stamped directly into the wood block.
