Boss Katana MK I Head

The BOSS Katana-Head (1st Gen / MkI) stood out upon its 2016 launch by packing a massive feature set, tube-like power response, and a unique built-in practice speaker into an affordable, lightweight digital head.

*NOTE* THIS AMPLIFIER IS LISTED FOR LOCAL PICKUP. WE CAN SHIP THIS WITHIN THE UNITED STATES, BUT THE SHIPPING WILL BE CALCULATED AND ON THE PURCHASERS DIME. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SEND US A MESSAGE AND WE CAN GIVE YOU A SOLID ESTIMATE ON SHIPPING PRICE, THEN A FULL CALCULATION IF AGREEABLE.

I have a Boss Katana Combo amp that I keep in my bedroom. My wife LOVES the ".5 Watt" setting. Great tone, great sound, great effects, all of the bells and whistles at LOW volume. With the additional "Practice Speaker" in the head unit itself, you don't even need a cabinet if you're just looking to plug in and fiddle around for a little while. The practice speaker runs at 30 Watts.

Key Standout Features

• Built-In Monitor Speaker: Unlike standard amplifier heads that require an external speaker cabinet just to make a sound, the Katana Head features a small 5-inch built-in speaker on the front. This allows you to practice quietly at home without needing a full cab attached.
• Tube Logic & Class AB Analog Power Amp: It uses a real Class AB analog power amplifier stage combined with BOSS’s Tube Logic approach to replicate the dynamic, touch-sensitive interaction and speaker push of a genuine tube amp rather than feeling stiff or digital.
• Onboard BOSS Effects & Tone Studio: It comes with 5 authentic amp characters (Clean, Crunch, Lead, Brown, and Acoustic) plus a hidden arsenal of over 50 customizable BOSS effects accessible via the BOSS Tone Studio software. You can run up to three effects simultaneously using dedicated top-panel knobs.
• Variable Power Control: A built-in power control switch lets you dial down the wattage (from 0W to 50W to 100W) so you can get a saturated, cranked-power-amp tone at bedroom volumes or crank it up for full band rehearsals and gigs.
• Portability and Stage-Ready Punch: Weighing very little compared to traditional tube heads, it delivers a high-powered, cutting presence that easily pairs with external speaker cabinets for a half-stack feel at a fraction of the cost.
