About this model

The Yamaha MODX8 is an 88-key synthesizer with a Graded Hammer Standard weighted action and Initial Touch (no aftertouch). It is built around Yamaha's Motion Control Synthesis Engine, combining AWM2 sampled sounds with FM-X synthesis for a total of 192 notes of polyphony (128-note stereo AWM2 plus 64-note FM-X). The Super Knob can control up to 128 parameters at once for real-time sound shaping. It also doubles as a 10-in/4-out USB audio interface and features an A/D input for running external audio through its effects.
