AKG D5 S Professional Dynamic Vocal Microphone With On/Off Switch

The AKG D5 S is a compact, handheld dynamic microphone engineered for live vocal performance and studio work. Its supercardioid polar pattern delivers focused sound capture with excellent rejection of off-axis noise, while the integrated noiseless on/off switch provides silent muting without audio artifacts. Built with a die-cast housing and spring-steel grille, this mic balances durability with a comfortable grip suitable for extended performance sessions.

Audio Performance

The patented laminated Varimotion diaphragm captures vocals with clarity across a 70–20,000 Hz frequency response, preserving both warmth and articulation. With 2.6 mV/Pa sensitivity and a supercardioid polar pattern, the D5 S isolates the vocalist while rejecting ambient stage noise, making it reliable in live environments where isolation matters.

Design & Build

Weighing just 320 grams and measuring 185 mm in height, the D5 S fits naturally in the hand without fatigue during long sets. The dual shock mount and integrated pop filter reduce handling noise and breath plosives, while the balanced 3-pin XLR connector and 600 Ohm electrical impedance ensure clean signal transmission to standard mixer inputs.
