D’Angelico Excel EX-63 Archtop Guitar

The distinctive D’Angelico Excel EX-63 combines the projection and response of an acoustic archtop with the ornate Art Deco styling for which D’Angelico is known. Introduced in 2015 and inspired by John D’Angelico’s final guitar design, it features a symmetrical non-cutaway body, round soundhole, natural spruce top and beautifully figured flame-maple back and sides. Appointments include a comfortable C-shaped maple neck, mother-of-pearl block inlays, floating ebony bridge, gold Grover Super Rotomatic tuners and D’Angelico’s signature stairstep tailpiece. The model’s original Electro-Core bridge piezo provides acoustic-electric functionality, while this guitar has also been fitted with a Fishman Neo-D Single Coil soundhole pickup for an additional clear and articulate amplified voice. The original tortoiseshell-style Scalini pickguard has been removed but is included with its mounting bracket, along with the Fishman pickup packaging and a fitted D’Angelico hard case. The guitar presents well overall with light signs of use, while the case shows normal exterior wear.
