The Peper's Dirty Tree is the best boost for getting a "modern metal" sound from a crunchy tube amp. I say that having tried most, if not all, of the leading candidates. Supposedly, the "DT" mode is a clone of the Fortin 33, but I have a 33, have A/B'd it against the Dirty Tree, and can say that the Dirty Tree is slightly brighter, tighter and more aggressive sounding. Plug this into something with a loose low end and be amazed.
