Olds Recording 1966 Bb trumpet - Brass / Nickel Silver / Red Brass
This is a 1966 Olds Recording trumpet that is in very good original condition.
Valve compression and action is very good. All slides are smooth. There is some lacquer wear in various locations, but the bell section retains virtually all of the original lacquer.
The only flaw with this trumpet is some dent work on the top side of the bell tube near the front brace. Most dents in this location is from the side of the bell being pushed into the brace, but this damage is on the top of the bell. It is possible that something fell into the bell causing this dent, that has been removed. There is some lacquer loss which documents the previous dent.
This Recording has a Re-O-loy leadpipe, which was replaced with a Nickel-silver leadpipe on models made a year or so later.
Includes the original "Samsonite style" case in very good condition. Olds was always very stylish with their cases and this one screams "Cool cat from the 1960's"
Olds quality was still at its peak when this trumpet was made and it has survived the test of time and is ready for many years of additional playing.
