• BUILT-IN NOISE GATE & HIGH-GAIN AMP SIMULATION: The Chopper-Z integrates a dedicated, adjustable noise gate—developed specifically for high-gain metal tones—to suppress background hiss and hum without compromising your playing dynamics. This, combined with the high-gain amp simulation circuit, delivers tight, articulate modern metal distortion that stays focused and punchy even at extreme settings. Players describe it as delivering very high gain with clarity and praise how the gate performs with active pickups for different metal genres.
• 3 OUTPUT MODES — POWER AMP, PRE AMP & CAB SIM: Instantly adapt to any performance scenario with three selectable output modes. Power Amp mode connects directly to your amp's power section for full analog warmth. Pre Amp mode functions as a traditional distortion pedal into your amp's front input. Cab Sim mode engages the built-in 4×12 cabinet simulation with IR technology, letting you go direct to a PA system, audio interface, or mixer—no amp required.
• 3-BAND EQ & FAT BOOST — SCULPT YOUR SIGNATURE METAL TONE: The highly responsive Low, Mid, and High EQ controls deliver surgical tone-shaping power. Engage the FAT BOOST switch to add saturation and body to the mid and low frequencies—perfect for thickening up solos or adding weight to rhythm parts. Start with all EQ knobs at noon, set the Gain around 12 o'clock for tight hard rock crunch, then push higher for an all-out modern metal onslaught.
• AMBIENT LED LIGHTING & ROAD-READY R SERIES DESIGN: The iconic R Series ambient LED lighting with 3 modes (Sync, Always On, or Off) via a recessed switch gives your pedalboard a sleek, futuristic glow. Encased in a rugged aluminum alloy chassis, the Chopper-Z features sturdy knobs and a solid footswitch—built to withstand heavy stomping night after night. Bypass switching ensures straightforward signal management when disengaged.
