The Blackstar Dept. 10 AMPED 2 is a 100-watt guitar amplifier and multi-effects processor in a pedal format. It powers an 8 or 16 ohm cabinet at full output, feeds the front of a traditional amp from its Out jack, or goes direct to a PA or computer. Drive, modulation, delay and reverb sections sit around three preamp voices, and a power switch drops the output to 20 W or 1 W for rehearsal, recording or home use.

Amp Voices and Effects

The USA voice is clean and bright with a solid low end, UK follows a British Class A amp of the early '60s, and Classic draws on Blackstar's cascaded valve overdrive circuits with a passive British tone stack. In front of the amp, the Drive section offers Boost, Drive and Fuzz. Modulation covers chorus/flanger, tremolo and phaser, delay offers Linear, Analog and Shimmer types, and reverb offers Room, Spring and Plate. The Response control sets the feel of an EL84, EL34 or 6L6 power stage.

Live and Studio Connectivity

CabRig cabinet simulation feeds a balanced XLR, a stereo line/headphone output and USB-C, which records four channels at once into a computer. An OLED chromatic tuner, tap tempo, MIDI In and Thru, an effects loop switchable between +4 dBu and -10 dBV, and two isolated 9V outputs for other pedals let the AMPED 2 sit at the center of a pedalboard.
