The Blackstar Debut 50R is a 50-watt combo with a 12-inch speaker for practice, recording and live playing. It has two channels, a three-band EQ with Blackstar's patented ISF control, switchable plate or hall reverb and a series effects loop, and a power reduction switch drops the output to 5 watts for quieter playing at home. This version has a cream covering with an oxblood grille cloth.

Two Channels and Reverb

The Clean channel has its own Volume control and a Bright switch for extra top end, and it reaches a light crunch near the top of its range. The Overdrive channel has separate Gain and Volume controls and runs from a dynamic crunch to a saturated lead sound. Press the reverb switch for a bright plate, or leave it out for a darker hall with a longer decay, and set the amount with the Reverb level knob.

Connections

External pedals or processors go in the series effects loop. The speaker-emulated Line Out/Headphones jack switches off the speaker for silent practice or direct recording, and music from the Line In plays through the amp or through headphones. A 2-button latching footswitch (sold separately) switches channels and turns the reverb on and off.
