The Suhr Pete Thorn Standard Signature is a meticulously crafted electric guitar designed to deliver exceptional versatility, effortless playability, and the expressive tonal character demanded by professional musicians. Built around a two-piece Fijian mahogany body topped with a two-piece, 3/16-inch plain maple cap, this instrument combines the warmth and resonance of mahogany with the clarity and articulation of maple. Hand-shaped arm, hand, and tummy contours enhance playing comfort, while the gloss finish provides a polished, stage-ready appearance. The specifications list Cactus Green Metallic as the model color, although the supplied body color and finish fields specify Trans TV Yellow with a gloss finish. Chrome appointments, including the side-mounted input jack, Suhr two-post tremolo bridge with solid saddles and a steel block, and matching strap buttons, contribute to its refined aesthetic. A rear-routed electronics configuration and absence of a pickguard preserve the clean lines of the body, while a black satin tremolo cavity cover completes the rear hardware.

The mahogany neck features a satin finish and Pete Thorn's signature 60s Soft V profile, measuring .830 inches at the first fret and .910 inches at the twelfth fret. This carefully shaped profile offers a comfortable, substantial feel while supporting fluid movement across the neck. The Indian rosewood fingerboard features a compound 10-inch to 14-inch radius with a standard roll, providing a comfortable surface for chord work and a flatter playing area for expressive bends and lead playing. Twenty-two jumbo stainless steel frets offer a smooth, durable playing surface with excellent longevity. Mother-of-pearl face and side dots provide elegant visual reference points, complemented by a white Tusq nut measuring 1.687 inches in width. The original-style black gloss headstock features a mother-of-pearl Suhr logo inlay, Pete Thorn signature engraving, and chrome Suhr locking tuning machines for reliable tuning stability and convenient string changes.

At the heart of the instrument's sound is a pair of signature Thornbucker humbuckers, with a zebra-finished Thornbucker in the neck position and a Thornbucker Plus in the bridge position. This combination delivers a broad tonal palette, from warm, articulate cleans and rounded neck pickup textures to punchy midrange, enhanced output, and singing sustain from the bridge pickup. A five-way blade selector expands the available pickup configurations, while master volume and tone controls provide straightforward tonal adjustment. A push-pull control adds a parallel wiring option for the bridge pickup, introducing additional clarity and a more open, articulate character when desired. Black pickup-selection hardware and Aura control knobs complement the guitar's understated design, while the chrome bridge and hardware provide a cohesive finish. Configured for standard E tuning with .010 to .046 gauge strings, the instrument is designed to respond naturally to dynamic playing and accommodate a wide range of musical styles.

The Suhr Pete Thorn Standard Signature brings together premium tonewoods, thoughtful ergonomics, versatile electronics, and meticulous construction in an instrument built for demanding studio and live performance. Its Fijian mahogany body, maple top, rosewood fingerboard, stainless steel frets, and signature neck profile create a balanced playing experience with the tonal flexibility required for everything from atmospheric clean passages to expressive, high-gain lead work. The two-post tremolo system provides expressive pitch control while maintaining the precision expected of a professional instrument. Weighing just 6 lbs. 14 oz., it offers a lightweight, comfortable feel for extended playing sessions. Identified by model number 01-SIG-0058, this signature guitar comes complete with a Travel Pro soft case, combining professional-grade performance with the distinctive design and musical sensibilities associated with Pete Thorn.
