Available now at the Japanese Guitar Company is a magnificent, limited-edition 1965 John Lennon Signature Casino E230TD in a deep vintage sunburst finish. Meticulously handcrafted at the world-renowned Terada factory, this model is a peerless recreation of John Lennon’s iconic tracking instrument, engineered directly from historical 1960s Kalamazoo blueprints to capture absolute historic fidelity.
The construction blueprint features a fully hollow laminated maple body trimmed in vintage-accurate single-ply cream binding. The set mahogany neck is carved to an inviting mid-60s slim-to-medium C profile, capped by a premium bound rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays and 22 frets. Under the hood, this premium instrument is factory-equipped with top-tier USA-made Gibson P-90 single-coil pickups housed in period-correct nickel dogear covers. Wired to independent volume and tone pots with a three-way toggle switch, this combination delivers an incredible array of woody acoustic depth, clear chiming top-end snap, and a fat, singing mid-range growl that effortlessly replicates the signature tracking tones of the British Invasion boom.
The hardware is entirely original and beautifully aged, incorporating a vintage-style tune-o-matic bridge on a floating baseplate, a traditional chrome trapeze tailpiece with a diamond center block emblem, a three-ply white pickguard featuring the embossed silver epsilon logo, and vintage-style tuners that ensure smooth tuning stability.
This guitar is in very good overall condition and has just completed a comprehensive overhaul in our workshop, including a complete detail cleaning, fingerboard conditioning, a fresh set of strings, and a precise professional setup so it arrives dialed in for low, effortless action. The nitrocellulose finish retains a brilliant mirror shine, showing only expected light cosmetic signs of handling and superficial surface scuffs from gentle home play. The original frets are in outstanding condition, comfortably rating a healthy 9 out of 10 life remaining with virtually no noticeable wear on the wire and plenty of material left for decades of active performance.
Ships securely nestled inside its original, form-fitting brown hard shell case featuring a vibrant pink plush interior, robust gold latches, and an integrated accessory pocket. Please feel free to reach out to us directly with any questions or specific measurement requests.
