Selling my BOSS Katana Artist Head Gen 3. Played it a handful of times at home, works perfectly, and there are no scratches, dents or marks anywhere. Smoke-free, pet-free studio.

Quick note: it has no built-in speaker. You'll need a cab, headphones, or an interface/speakers.

I bought it because I live in a small apartment with kids, and I needed a way to play without bothering anyone. With headphones it works great, and it's an easy way to record too: USB straight into the computer, no mics. In the end, my modeling rig took over that job, so the Katana mostly sat on the shelf.

Tone-wise you get 6 amp types (the new Pushed setting is great for edge-of-breakup sounds), the Bloom switch, and five effects sections: booster, mod, FX, delay and reverb. If you like to tweak, BOSS Tone Studio lets you go deep and save your own rigs. If you'd rather just play, there are tons of free presets online, including on BOSS Tone Exchange, and loading one takes a couple of minutes.

Not sure about head vs. combo? A combo has the amp and speaker in one box. A head is just the amp, so you can pair it with any cab you like, and it's easy to carry to gigs that already have a cab.

When it's time to play out, it's 100 watts, plenty for a band with a drummer. Power Control brings it back down for home. Also has an effects loop, MIDI, footswitch inputs and Stereo Expand.

Includes the amp head and power cable (no original box). I'll pack it well in a sturdy box with lots of padding.
