Another cool Vintage Banjo that showed up in the shop...

Its a RARE 1925 Lyon and Healy Style A Washburn Tenor Banjo with an upgraded Grover Presto Tailpiece. We had it Pro Setup with New Strings and it comes in the shown Non-original Soft Shell Case.

Here's some info we found on these cool Banjos..

Lyon and Healy Washburn Tenor Banjo

• Headstock Inlay: Features a prominent, highly detailed mother-of-pearl floral pattern running down the center of the dark headstock veneer.
• Resonator Structure: Built with tobacco-stained mahogany and birdseye or tiger-striped maple. It typically includes custom diamond-wood marquetry or checkerboard binding wrapping the edges, along with the distinct metal flange plate attached directly to the upper outer rim of the resonator.
• Tone Ring: Equipped with Lyon & Healy's proprietary "cupped" or "donut" Washburn tone ring. This gives the banjo its highly projected, loud, and crisp tone designed to cut through brass instruments in 1920s dance bands.
• Fingerboard: An ebony fretboard wrapped in grained ivoroid binding, showcasing fancy-shaped pearl position markers.

This banjo has an Ebony fretboard with Grained Ivoroid Bindings...It has a new replacement bridge and the scale length measures 20 3/4 inches. The nut measures 1 1/4 inches..The original drum head measures 10 3/4 inches across the top..

The banjo still has the original friction tuners with the original tuner buttons. All original to include the calf-skin head but the replaced back in the day, Grover Patent Tailpiece..

We had our Tech set the banjo up with really nice playing action. The neck is very straight. New strings so its ready to go!

Ships with the shown 1960's Soft Shell case that fits it well...
