With this Hanika Natural PF Custom, we commissioned a truly special instrumen! Inspired by the work of American Master Luthier Richard Reynoso, we created an instrument that was intended to be as pure and elegant in both appearance and sound as possible. We chose the Natural PF as the base model and made some significant modifications.

Tonewood & Sound - To achieve a wide dynamic range and a powerful, broad sound, we opted for Alpine spruce. At our request, this was thinned by 0.2mm, which significantly improves the responsiveness. Beautiful red pakouk is used for the back and sides. Tonally, this wood is comparable to a very good piece of rosewood, but with a slightly more percussive quality. Another upgrade is the Torres bracing with an arched top. The overall result is a sound which is very versatile. Whether playing with a lively, flamenco-like touch or playing sustained melodies, every note is full, defined, and stands out on its own. A new bridge model with a wider saddle for even better intonation has also been installed!

Appearance – The visual design should complement the sound. A few high-quality components create a harmonious and cohesive overall impression. The top features a very minimalist version of the Hanika Z1 rosette. The binding and ribs are decorated with African Blackwood and only set off towards the top with a simple decorative purfling. The neck is matte black. The front and back of the headstock again feature pakouk wood, creating a visual repetition. Gold-colored Rubner tuners with ebony buttons add a touch of elegance.

Playability – Hanika guitars are known for their excellent playability. However, even here, minor details can be optimized. So, in addition to the tried-and-tested C-1 neck profile, we opted for a 30" fingerboard radius. This provides a modern playing feel and makes playing barre chords easier.

Those familiar with Richard Reynoso's work will recognize visual similarities. And yet, this guitar is a unique instrument and, moreover, a true one-of-a-kind. The combination of red and black elements create a warm and inviting atmosphere. When not being played, this guitar will be a visual highlight in any room. Ultimately, of course, it's the sound and playability that matter most. And anyone who has ever held this unique instrument knows that it is truly something special!
