Suhr Andy Wood Signature Modern T - GT Candy Red #94654

The Suhr Andy Wood Signature Modern T in GT Candy Red is a bold expression of contemporary guitar design, bringing together striking aesthetics, refined craftsmanship, and the versatility demanded by an expressive player. Its two-piece swamp ash body is finished in a vibrant GT Candy Red gloss, allowing the wood’s natural character to complement a vivid, commanding appearance. Hand-shaped body contours create a purposeful, ergonomic form, while the parchment Modern T pickguard provides a tasteful contrast against the rich red finish. Chrome hardware, including the control plate, electrosocket input jack, strap buttons, and recessed Suhr two-post bridge, completes the instrument with a cohesive, polished presence. Weighing 8 lbs 11 oz, this Modern T combines substantial construction with the unmistakable identity of Andy Wood’s signature design, balancing traditional inspiration with a distinctly modern character.

The roasted maple neck and roasted maple fingerboard provide a visually cohesive foundation, enhanced by a satin neck finish and an original headstock finished in satin. Its Modern Elliptical neck profile measures .780 to .830 inches, offering a carefully shaped feel that supports comfortable movement across the fretboard. A 16-inch fingerboard radius with a standard roll creates a consistent playing surface suited to fluid bends, intricate runs, and precise articulation. Twenty-four jumbo stainless steel frets extend the instrument’s range while providing a smooth, durable surface for demanding playing styles. Black side dots and black face-dot inlays offer clear visual reference points against the roasted maple, while the absence of neck binding and a 12th-fret inlay preserves the clean, understated appearance. A 1.650-inch black nut completes the neck specification, bringing together precision, comfort, and the stability associated with roasted maple construction.

At the heart of the instrument are a pair of Woodbucker pickups, with a neck model and bridge model finished in raw nickel to complement the guitar’s chrome hardware. Their configuration provides a versatile tonal foundation, accommodating articulate cleans, expressive lead passages, and driven sounds with a responsive character. The volume and tone controls offer direct command over the instrument’s voice, while a push-pull control enables parallel operation of the bridge pickup, expanding the available tonal palette with an alternative pickup configuration. The recessed Suhr two-post bridge features solid saddles, a steel block, and a chrome finish, combining smooth tremolo functionality with a streamlined appearance. Suhr locking tuners in chrome provide efficient string changes and reliable tuning stability, while the .010 to .046 string gauge and E standard tuning establish a familiar foundation for a broad range of musical styles. Every component contributes to an instrument designed to respond naturally to the player’s touch and musical intention.

The signature details complete the character of this carefully specified instrument, from the black Suhr decal and original headstock to the Andy Wood signature engraving that distinguishes its identity. The parchment tremolo cavity cover complements the pickguard, while the chrome knobs maintain the consistency of the hardware throughout the design. Supplied with a deluxe softshell case, the guitar is equipped for secure transport between rehearsals, studios, and performances. Identified by part number 01-SIG-0063, the Suhr Andy Wood Signature Modern T in GT Candy Red represents a meeting of individual artistry and meticulous engineering. Its vivid finish, roasted maple construction, stainless steel frets, versatile Woodbucker pickups, and thoughtfully integrated controls come together in an instrument built to inspire confident performance, encourage exploration, and deliver a distinctive playing experience shaped by the demands of a modern virtuoso.
