Gibson Les Paul Smartwood Series 5-String Bass *ONE OF A KIND*

Here is your chance to own a piece of Gibson bass history. This is a Smartwood Series 5-String Les Paul bass. From my research, these were never made for sale and this is most likely a prototype (see advertisement). The body is chambered mahogany with a maple top. The neck is mahogany with a chechen fretboard. The pickups are Thunderbird Plus pickups and there is a 3-band Bartolini preamp with a 3-way switch for pickup selection. The scale is 34”. The bridge is a gold Schaller 3D-5 roller bridge. This bass is set with medium action and plays easily. The weight is a comfortable 8.5 lbs. Lastly, the bass comes with its original hardshell case.
