The 1974 Ventura Les Paul Signature (Model 2401) is a rare, Japanese-made "lawsuit era" copy of the innovative but commercially short-lived Gibson Les Paul Signature semi-hollow body guitar.

Condition is Good showing players wear, scratches, light checking and chips but overall presents well

All electronics, tuners, truss, controls and switches work as they should

Origins and Manufacturing

During the 1970s, Ventura guitars were imported by C. Bruno & Son and manufactured in Japan. The Model 2401 was built at the highly regarded FujiGen Gakki factory. This is the exact same facility that produced identical clones for the Ibanez 2401 model featured in their 1973 catalog.

Specifications & Design Distinctions

While it visually mirrors the distinct silhouette of the Gibson original—merging an ES-335 style upper half with a Les Paul lower cutaway—the Ventura copy diverges significantly in its construction and electronics:

• Fully Hollow Construction: Unlike the original Gibson model, which featured a heavy center T-block (making it a semi-hollowbody), the Ventura version is fully hollow, built with internal mounting blocks that do not run the full length of the body.
• The Pickups: The original Gibson version used complex, low-impedance epoxy-insulated humbuckers designed by Les Paul for direct-to-board recording. The Ventura 2401 instead utilizes proprietary, high-output soapbar / stacked-rail pickups housed in large plastic surrounds. They deliver a raw, powerful single-coil flavor reminiscent of P90s, but are not hum-canceling.
• Control Layout: It features a traditional dual master volume configuration alongside dedicated tone switches or dials for both the neck and bridge positions to unlock a broad spectrum of vintage tones.
• Aesthetics: Most commonly found in a classic Goldtop gloss finish with a fully bound neck and body, a three-piece neck, and a rosewood fretboard
