Eastman Strings is an American company with its own workshop in Beijing, China. Using well-seasoned, high-quality tonewoods, the company produces guitars, mandolins, violins, violas, cellos, and double basses. With one of the world’s largest stocks of maple for violin-family instruments, Eastman is highly regarded in Japan and throughout Europe.

This is the MD-305, an A-style mandolin with a refined satin finish.

Despite its accessible price, the top and back are both hand-carved from solid woods, resulting in an instrument made with exceptional care.

The soft, open sound characteristic of the teardrop-shaped body makes this mandolin suitable for a wide variety of genres, including jazz, blues, and pop.

Our in-house workshop has adjusted the nut and saddle, and restrung the instrument with light-gauge strings (.008 and above) to further improve playability. It is set up for comfortable playing and is highly recommended for anyone considering taking up the mandolin.
