Description:

This Iris looks as good as it sounds. The Iced Tea Burst finish is a warm amber that fades to a deeper edge, giving it a vintage, sun-faded look. Under that sits a solid Sitka spruce top paired with figured rosewood back and sides, and the figure in the wood shows through under the burst.

The Sitka top gives you headroom and clarity. You can dig in hard and the guitar keeps getting louder without breaking up. The rosewood back and sides add a rich, deep low end, sparkling highs and long sustain, so chords bloom and single notes ring out with a lot of overtone. It’s a full, lush voice that works well for both strumming and fingerstyle.

It’s also ready for the stage. A K&K Pure Mini pickup is installed. This passive under-saddle transducer is known for reproducing the guitar’s natural acoustic tone instead of the quacky piezo sound. There’s nothing cut into the sides and no battery, and it plugs straight in through the end pin jack.

Every Iris is built by hand in Burlington, Vermont, by the same crew behind Fairbanks Guitars and Circle Strings. They keep the appointments simple and put the investment into tonewood, bracing and craftsmanship. The result plays like a high-end custom guitar.
