A real collector’s item. A rare Japanese-made Gibson from the short period of time in which Gibson officially licensed production in Japan under the Orville by Gibson name. This guitar is from the very first year in which production started - 1988 at the Terada factory in Japan.
Orville by Gibson guitars feature the best of both worlds - Gibson USA electronics and Japanese craftsmanship, which at the time rivaled (and often surpassed) Gibson’s manufacturing in the US.
This particular guitar is in excellent shape and looks as if it’s been barely played despite being nearly 40 years old. I have included photos so you can clearly see the excellent shape it’s in. It plays smooth and fast and can absolutely rock.
I imported this from Tokyo myself but I want to sell it as I am reducing the size of my collection. It’s been upgraded with new Gotoh tuners and a modern wrap-around bridge for better tuning, but the original parts are included in case you want to revert the guitar to its 1988 condition.
It also includes a brand new Canadian-made TKL hard case, but the original Orville by Gibson gig bag is also included.
This guitar is already discounted and priced to sell. Compare it to other Orville by Gibson electric guitars being sold for $2000 at shops like Mike and Mike’s Guitar Bar in Seattle.
