For the player who appreciates the craftsmanship of a fine Japanese acoustic guitar but prefers something a little more comfortable than a full-sized dreadnought.

✨ First Impression

Some guitars catch your eye. Others capture your attention the moment you play them.

This one does both.

By beauty alone, this Cherry Sunburst K. Yairi deserves the attention of acoustic guitar enthusiasts. The beautiful finish, tasteful appointments, and Japanese craftsmanship make it a pleasure just to admire.

But I didn't import this guitar from Japan simply to look at it!

The real surprise came when I picked it up.

🎸 How It Plays

The compact body is an absolute joy to hold. It's comfortable sitting in a chair, relaxing on the couch, or settling in for an evening of music.

The neck feels natural in my hands, and fingering chords and moving around the fretboard is wonderfully easy.

The measured 12th-fret action is 2.50 mm on the bass side and 2.00 mm on the treble side, measured from the top of the fret to the underside of the string.

There's something about a well-made smaller guitar that makes you want to keep playing.

This is one of those guitars.

🎶 How It Sounds

Here's where this little K. Yairi really won me over.

The sound is melodic, warm, expressive, and surprisingly full, with impressive projection for its compact dimensions.

Individual notes have definition, chords sound beautifully musical, and the guitar responds with a character that is difficult to capture in words.

I've played my share of parlor-sized and small-bodied acoustics, and I have yet to play one with this much soul.

It's not trying to be a dreadnought. It has its own voice, and that's exactly what makes it special.

This 2016 MYT-1 CS was personally sourced and imported from Japan.

It presents beautifully and is in excellent overall pre-owned condition, with minor cosmetic signs of previous use. Please examine the detailed photographs for the exact condition.

The original K. Yairi factory label identifies the 2016 production year, MYT-1 CS model, and serial number 67809.

Hard-shell case included: The case is not a snug, custom-fitted case for this particular guitar. Additional interior padding is needed to keep the instrument stable inside. I want the next owner to know that up front.

Carefully packed for shipping, with the guitar securely stabilized inside its case using additional protective padding. Insured shipping when available, and signature required upon delivery.

Please allow the guitar to acclimate indoors for 12–24 hours before opening the case if delivered in cold weather.
