Up for sale is a hard rubber Berg Larsen tenor saxophone mouthpiece, originally a 100/3, professionally refaced by Gary Underwood to a 103/3. The refacing slightly opens the tip and gives it a clean, even facing, so it plays more consistently than a typical stock Berg.
This piece has the classic Berg Larsen tenor sound: warm and dark with plenty of body, but it can push and project when you lean into it. The /3 chamber keeps it round and full rather than bright, making it a great choice for jazz, blues, and anyone who wants a big, fat tenor sound without the harshness of a high-baffle piece.
Included:
- Berg Larsen 103/3 hard rubber tenor mouthpiece (Gary Underwood refacing)
- Rovner ligature
- Mouthpiece cap
Plays great; I'm only selling because I no longer have a tenor.
