Up for sale is a near mint, 100% authentic vintage Neumann U87 Ai large-diaphragm condenser microphone. This particular unit features a body serial number (93200) that dates the chassis to circa 1992–1993.

As seen in the photos, the internal board features the authentic factory "U89" silkscreen footprint (completely correct for this era of U87 Ai production) and a "Circuit Diagram 04" transformer stage. The capsule base bears a genuine Neumann factory service sticker dated November 15, 1995, indicating that the capsule was professionally refreshed/replaced at the factory early in its life, ensuring excellent acoustic longevity and performance.

Condition

• Cosmetic: Very Good. Only light, normal wear from professional studio use. No major dings, dents, or deep scratches to the housing. Grill mesh is clean and structurally sound.
• Functional: Excellent. Tested thoroughly and passes clean audio with a low noise floor. All polar patterns (Cardioid, Omni, Figure-8), the low-cut filter, and the -10dB pad switches function perfectly.
• Only noticeable wear is a tiny tarnished section on the shock mount approximately 1/8th of an inch long (shown in photos)
