For Sale: 1960 Fender 5E3 Deluxe Tweed Narrow Panel Combo Amplifier - 100% Original MAJOR components (tweed, back panels, transformers, date correct speaker, tube chart, baffle, grill cloth, chassis, pots, sockets) and has been serviced. Let the good times roll.
This is a very well preserved 1960 Deluxe 5E3, currently the most sought after Fender amp. The chrome on the chassis control panel is very very clean, silk screens numbers are intact. The Tube chart is wholly intact as is the fragile tweed (linen) covering showing some patina and light honest wear. The amp received an update of the electrolytic caps (for safety and performance) and placed inside their original Astron mini-mite cardboard sleeves to maintain a vintage appearance. The original yellow Astron tone cap and most other Astron coupling caps are retained, a grounded cord was added and clean and spray of the controls and sockets. The amplifier sounds absolutely splendid, idles quietly and ready for daily use for years to come. This service saves the buyer hundreds of dollars and down time. Please view the pictures as part of the description.

- This amplifier is ready to plug in and play or ready to gig. It has undergone a recap of the bypass and power section electrolytics with high quality parts(F&T, Sprague, MOD). The original yellow Astron bypass caps are intact and are “behaving”, (though these early Astrons are all notorious for being leaky, many collectors prefer these remain). The pots are original. Every carbon comp resistor was measured and within tolerance unless otherwise stated. The Astron .005 uf original tone cap and 500pf domino is intact. A thorough service was performed and a grounded cord added saving you both time and hundreds of $ in expense. Quality tubes supplied. It performs and sounds in optimal condition. As Fender amps from the 50-60’s were made when wall voltages were 110-115v. You really should use a Brownbox or similar to reduce wall voltages to these levels or you can risk damaging your amp. As such, no returns on amps.
- Cosmetic: honest minor wear, see pix
- Golden Era Quality: This collector quality 5E3 is perfect for home, studio or gigging. The OG tweed and grill are intact and the chassis chrome shines with lettering in excellent condition, without noticeable corrosion. There are no modifications or extra holes. Even, the original leather handle is intact.
- Weight: Approximately 25 lbs. The amp is serviced and ready for action on a steady diet of 115v.
Due to the age of the instrument and vintage components, this amp is sold strictly as is with no returns. As voltages in 1965 were between 110-115Volts I recommend using a voltage attenuation box like the Brownbox to avoid damage to some original components. Feel free to ask questions if you have any concerns. Shipping quote Includes insurance for loss, careful packing, and Fedex shipping. Thank you for the interest and for considering this fantastic sounding amp and piece of musical history. The pictures are part of the description, showcasing the amp's condition and features. It has been well prepared for the new owner.
