Seymour Duncan SH-18b Whole Lotta Humbucker Bridge Pickup – Reverse Zebra

The SH-18b Whole Lotta Humbucker delivers aggressive, articulate output with exceptional clarity and punch—a bridge pickup engineered for heavy playing without sacrificing definition. Built by hand in Santa Barbara, this pickup balances raw power with controlled midrange presence, making it equally at home in drop-tuned riffs and high-gain lead work. The Reverse Zebra finish offers distinctive visual contrast while maintaining the same sonic characteristics as all SH-18b variants.

Tone & Output Character

An 8.78k DC resistance specification produces a hotter output than traditional humbuckers, delivering compressed sustain and aggressive attack that cuts through dense mixes. The rough cast alnico 5 magnet combined with 42-gauge plain-enamel wire yields a bright, responsive midrange with extended highs—ideal for articulate riffing and clarity-focused lead tones across all gain levels.

Construction & Wiring Flexibility

Hand-built construction ensures consistent quality and reliable performance in professional applications. The 4-conductor lead wire enables multiple wiring configurations—coil-split, series/parallel switching, or phase options—giving players flexibility to customize the pickup's behavior within their guitar's electronics. The nickel silver bottom plate and wax potting eliminate squealing and microphonic feedback, guaranteeing squeal-free operation even at high volumes.
