The Ultimate Best-of-Both-Worlds Metal Cab: Early '90s USA Peavey Birch Construction + Vintage British Marshall 1960 Speakers.

Up for grabs is a true road-warrior, first-generation USA-made Peavey 5150 4x12 slant cabinet built in Meridian, Mississippi. While the exterior has plenty of authentic tour battle scars, the inside holds a massive upgrade: the stock Peavey Sheffield speakers were swapped out for a matched quad of vintage UK-made Celestion G12T-75 12" speakers (manufactured in Ipswich, Suffolk, England).

If you want the legendary, tight low-end thump and aggressive midrange bite of a classic British Marshall 1960A cabinet, housed inside Peavey's overbuilt, void-free birch plywood enclosure, this cab delivers a massive wall of sound at half the price of a clean vintage cab.

Key Highlights & Specs:

Upgraded Speakers: 4x 12" Celestion G12T-75 speakers (Authentic UK / Ipswich, England production, pre-China move). The interior baffle, speaker frames, and cones are remarkably clean and dry (see photos).

Power Handling & Impedance: 300 Watts RMS total handling, wired in classic series-parallel for a standard 16-Ohm mono load.

First-Run Early '90s Pedigree: Features the desirable earliest-production rear panel layout with a heavy-duty flush-mounted metal 1/4" input jack and a factory Switchcraft 3-pin male XLR jack (unlike later models with the brittle recessed plastic jack cups that always crack). The quad of Celestions is wired directly to the heavy-duty 1/4" input jack for rock-solid, plug-and-play reliability.

Hardware Intact: Includes all four heavy-duty rolling casters and recessed metal side handles.

Cosmetic Condition & Local Bay Area History:

Cosmetically, this cab is in true "player's grade" tour condition. It has scuffs and tolex rash along the bottom edges from being loaded in and out of vans, the rear serial plate is heavily scratched (though "MODEL-5150 SLANT" and the Meridian, MS address are still legible), and the front plastic Peavey logo badges are missing.

The back panel still rocks a clean white stencil from San Jose death-grind/grindcore outfit Buried at Birth, who tore through the NorCal and Bay Area underground metal circuit in the early 2010s. I left the stencil intact as a cool piece of local heavy music history, though a quick coat of flat black vinyl dye will easily cover it if you prefer a stealth black look.

Pricing & Pickup:

A quad of UK-made Ipswich Celestion G12T-75s routinely sells for $400+ parted out by themselves. Grab the whole loaded, gig-ready 4x12 cabinet for one low price.

Due to the size and weight (nearly 100 lbs), this is listed for Local Pickup Only in the Santa Cruz / South Bay area. I am happy to meet up locally, and you are welcome to bring your amp head to test it out before buying. Feel free to message me with any questions or reasonable offers!
