The Olinthus Cicada is widely recognized as the world's smallest fully functioning guitar effects pedal. Built by a boutique brand named Olinthus, this microscopic device faithfully recreates the classic analog, silky-smooth drive tones of the legendary Ibanez TS808 Tube Screamer.
Key Technical Specifications
- Form Factor & Design: Roughly the size of a 9-volt battery (45mm long × 30mm wide × 22mm deep). It features a green anodized aluminum chassis that is hinged at the top—the entire lower half of the pedal acts as the on/off footswitch.
- Control Layout: Despite its minuscule size, it hosts three fully functional sound-shaping knobs: Level, Drive, and Tone.
- Connectivity: It utilizes a single, top-mounted TRRS combination jack. It includes a breakout cable that splits into standard 1/4-inch mono input (blue), 1/4-inch mono output (red), and a 9V DC center-negative power connector (black).
- Durability: Although it looks like a novelty gimmick, it is built with premium components and is robustly engineered to withstand up to 250 lbs of foot pressure.
