Up for sale is an All-Original 2003 Alembic Stanley Clarke Signature Fretless Bass (Model # KSSB-4) in Pristine Condition. Features include: Buck-Eye Burl Top and Headstock Veneers; Mahogany Body; Maple/Purple-Heart Multi-Ply Neck-Thru; Ebony Fingerboard; and Europa Electronics. Body and headstock are gloss finish, back of neck is satin. Weight is 9lbs-1oz ;Scale Length 30.75"; Nut Width 1.65".
History: I sold this bass new in 2003 and bought it back from the original owner a few years later. It has seen some minimal/light play and has remained in its case most of its life.
Condition: With close inspection, I have found a pinhead sized dimple/indent in between the volume and pu/knob(see pic-very small). Other than some pretty typical tarnish/oxidation at contact points on the bridge(see pics), and some very mild/typical 'ghosting' of the strings in the fingerboard(has had flatwounds its entire life) this bass is Pristine and without issue. If you're one to scrutinize under light, you might find some mild settling of the wood that occurs with time, and 'maybe' something from normal handling but it would be extremely minor/negligible - Overall Stunning, easily a 9+ and in Collectors Grade Condition.
Bass plays, looks, sounds amazing and needs nothing. Includes the Original Hardshell Case(and key) pictured along with Schaller strap-locks, original spec and care-sheet, catalog and truss-rod wrench.
