The Benson Germanium Fuzz is a boutique guitar effects pedal by Benson Amps that reinvents classic 1960s two-transistor germanium fuzz designs by eliminating common environmental and signal-chain flaws. Key Features and Design

• Automatic Thermal Bias: It uses a proprietary internal temperature-control system and heating element to stabilize the germanium transistors (typically hand-matched 2N527 or 2N404). This prevents the temperature-induced drift and flubby sound that usually plague germanium pedals on hot stages or in cold rooms. 
• Warm-Up Cycle: After plugging in 9VDC power, the status LED glows amber for roughly 2 to 3 minutes while the circuit reaches its ideal operating temperature, then turns green when it is ready. 
• Class A Input Buffer & Pickup Simulator: Traditional germanium fuzzes must go first in a pedalboard chain and hate buffered pedals or humbuckers. Benson solved this by adding an input buffer and a pickup-simulator circuit, allowing you to place the pedal anywhere on your board. 
• Control Layout: It features three knobs—Volume, Gain, and Impedance(with no separate tone knob). The impedance knob acts like a simulated guitar volume roll-off, letting you dial in tight, sparkly clean tones or transition smoothly into heavy fuzz. 
• Tonal Range: It ranges from a rich, transparent clean boost and harmonic overdrive to a thick, singing 60s/70s wall of fuzz that cleans up naturally from your guitar's volume control.
