Original Ampex MM1100 1-inch 8-track tape headstack assembly, removed from my personal working Ampex MM1100 tape machine!
Professionally Inspected: Los Angeles audio technician Jacob Horowitz personally inspected the machine and head assembly. Based on his visual assessment, he described the heads as exceptionally clean and estimated approximately 80% of their usable life remains!
Included:
- Original tape heads
- Head mounting block and plate
- Guides and associated hardware (seen in photos)
- Attached wiring, as pictured
This is the actual head assembly with heads included, not an empty headblock.
The heads were recently removed from my own personal working machine just a few weeks ago. The remaining head life estimate is based on visual inspection, not a formal wear measurement or performance certification.
A great opportunity for anyone restoring, servicing, or maintaining a vintage Ampex MM1100 1-inch 8-track recorder.
Please examine all photographs carefully. Sold as pictured.
