2005 Gretsch 6120 SSLVO Brian Setzer Signature - TV Jones Classics - Nitro Lacquer

Excellent condition - MIJ JT Terada with the original hard shell case

I bought this from Phil's Vintage Guitars…and here is how they advertised it

“Somehow this guitar has escaped any real use for its 16 years of age and remains a case queen which makes no sense as its an absolute killer guitar. It looks like a previous owner preferred stock G arrow knobs to the usual dice knobs on this model, but they are easy enough to find if you would want to return it to stock. This model has the desirable vintage nitro lacquer (SSLVO) and TV Jones classic PAF pickups and correct 1959 light trestle bracing with a pinned bridge. Apart from a vintage 1959 6120 I don’t think you could wish for a better guitar.”

And it has continued to spend most of the time in the case since I bought it - strictly home use only.

Full disclosure - no dice!  This has the G-arrow knobs.

Features

The Gretsch G6120SSLVO (Brian Setzer Lacquer Vintage Orange) is widely considered one of the most desirable and iconic orange 6120 models.

A traditional Gretsch with modern upgrades!

Designed to conform to his own personal mods & specifications, the 2004/2005 Brian Setzer models combine classic Gretsch construction with modern performance features. Gretsch recreated the trestle bracing to match his favorite ’59, giving the new guitars a more solid feel with added sustain.

  • Vintage Orange Nitrocellulose Lacquer (SSLVO): ages gracefully over time
  • 1959 Trestle Bracing - gives the hollow body a more solid, stable feel under high stage volumes and provides incredible sustain without excessive feedback.
  • Pickups: TV Jones Classics - articulate twang and growl
  • Pinned Bridge: a pinned Adjusto-Matic bridge (preventing the bridge from sliding out of intonation during heavy Bigsby use)
  • Locking Tuners: Sperzel/Gotoh locking tuners

Electronics: Full classic Gretsch layout—individual pickup volumes, Master Volume, 3-way pickup switch, and the classic 3-way "Mud Switch" Tone Preset toggle.
