Waldschmidt Guitars-Jerry Garcia Tiger Clone

Sorry, this listing has ended.

Up for sale is my 2016 Jerry Garcia Tiger Clone made by Waldschmidt Guitars. Chris Waldschmidt was a relatively unknown luthier when I purchased this guitar, but his overall build quality, attention to detail, great aesthestics in his instruments, and the incredible tone of his instruments has led to him being recognized as a top-notch luthier, especially when it comes to Jerry Garcia inspired instruments. In fact, Chris is so sought after that he is presently not taking new orders due to his extensive backlog that stems from an increased demand for his serves, so grabbing one here on Reverb is a unique opportunity to get one of his instruments in a timely fashion.  I absolutely adore this guitar, and it breaks my heart to sell it. Financial hardships are forcing me to thin the herd. It's an incredible player, is in nearly perfect condition, without noticeable chips or imperfections. It has never been gigged with and has been kept in a smoke-free home. Reasonable counter offers will be considered

Here is more information on the guitar's specs:
-Hippie sandwich build, just like Jerry's Tiger
-The guitar's body is comprised of five layers identical to Tiger.
1.) Top-quarter sawn cocobolo (a south American rosewood species            that        is becoming progressively more expensive and difficult to find due to               over farming and regulation).
2.) Second layer-thing stripe of vermillion also known as paduak, another               renowned, rare tone wood.
  3.) Core-beautiful flamed maple with a high
  4.) Another thin vermillion layer
5.) Back-quartersawn cocobolo with a high degree of figuring.
-In terms of accuracy, the build of the body is identical to Tiger, the primary reason why the tone of the instrument is so spot on-clear, crystalline highs, and real punch in the lower registers.

Neck- Highly figured flame maple with two cherry stripes. Ebony fretboard that also contains some very unique figuring.  Face plate and back plates on headstock are both cocobolo. Compound radius fretboard with 24 frets.  The neck profile is incredibly comfortable. Two internal carbon fiber neck supports for enhanced stability. Neck side dot markers.

-Tuners-Gotoh Delta locking tuners that keep the guitar in tune reliably.

-Bridge-Gotoh bridge with through-body string mounting.

-Nut-Custom brass nut, a feature that adds to the authenticity and clarity of the tone.

-Scale length-25 1/2 inches

-Pickups-3 Dimarzio Super II's (same as Tiger, except tiger had a single coil in the neck) All three pickups can be split into single coil mode, providing a huge variety of tones. The pickup selector is a traditional five way selector. The guitar also has a beautiful cocobolo pickup surround.

Tone and Volume Controls-one tone control and one volume control that are military grade, texturized steel knobs.

Electronics-identical to Tiger's-shielded control cavity and pickup cavity.

- Wald Unity Gain Buffer-This was an innovation that was in most of Garcia's guitars. It functions to reduce electronic impedance in the instrument cable connecting the amp and the guitar. In my experience, it's presence leads to much greater clarity in terms of tone.
-On-board effects loop-One of the guitar's coolest features that was originally pioneered by Garcia. It can be turned on and off with the flip of a switch, allowing the player to use a traditional approach to pedals or a "Y" cable. There are two input jacks on the guitar, one for the cable leading directly to the amp and one for the Y cable, that splits into two separate cables (one end goes into the front of your pedal chain, while the second goes into the end of your pedal chain). The effects loop, when active, preserves the intensity of any activated pedal, regardless of the position of the volume control-a feature that is incredibly useful in live situations. The effects loop and unity gain buffer run on an E battery that is accessed by a simple compartment on the back of the guitar.
A Y cable is included with your purchase!

-Presently set up with .10-.46 strings, notes ring clearly across the board with no buzzing or fretting out during bends. Comes with heavy duty SKB flight case.

All in all, this guitar is perfect if you are looking for that "Jerry Tone", or if you just generally appreciate crystalline highs and punch in the low end. This guitar would do well for country or classic rock, as well.

All in all, I've priced this guitar to sell. Comparable models from other luthiers regularly run from 3500-7000. Don't miss this opportunity to add an incredible Tiger-inspired guitar to your collection, especially because Chris won't be making more in the near future. Please message me with any questions regarding the instrument. I'm incredibly picky when it comes to guitars and this one has met my full-expectations. You won't be disappointed. I've played other replicas made by reputably luthiers and I'd pick this one over and over.
