For sale is a really nice pair of JBL D131’s from 1961. These speakers are the predessesor to the famous D120. The 131 has a smaller voice coil gap resulting in a lower wattage speaker, approximately 30-40 Watts, with higher spl. These 131’s are in fantastic shape and sound amazing. The dust caps were professionally replaced with paper to chill some of the extreme high end. At the same time the edges were lightly doped to preserve the surrounds from cracking and splitting. There are absolutely no splits cracks tears or wrinkles in the cones or surrounds. Even though the labels state 16ohm, these coils measure as 8ohm speakers. In the early days JBL rated these higher in an effort to get more output from their hifi systems. Google Harvey Gerst and JBL, you will come across a wealth of great information. Both cones are original 131-404. These are ready for your 2x12 guitar cab or Home hifi system. Will be packed extremely well for shipping.
