Fender Custom 1960 Stratocaster Heavy Relic Masterbuilt Jason Smith - BLK (#360)

A Masterbuilt instrument, for those who have held one at least once, transcends the already exceptional experience of a Fender Custom Shop Teambuilt.

It is a guitar that is almost wild in its resonance, an instrument on which your hands glide effortlessly due to its comfort. It is an alchemical mix of small technical details that make a significant difference.

This Stratocaster was crafted by Senior Masterbuilder Jason Smith. For those who may not be familiar, Jason is the son of Dan Smith, a central figure in Fender's revival in the 1980s, as well as one of the founding fathers of the Fender Custom Shop. He apprenticed for five years under John English. Today, he is a highly regarded Masterbuilder known for his craftsmanship as well as the exquisite Relic work on his instruments. He is the luthier chosen by artists of the caliber of John 5, Michael Landau, Flea, Josh Klinghoffer, Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, Reggie Hamilton, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Neon Trees.

This remarkable instrument is made with selected materials, lightweight and resonant, featuring a Vintage Modified #2 wiring configuration characterized by incredible resonance and dynamics, Narrow Tall / 6105 frets, and a 60's Oval "C" neck profile, along with a AAA selected rosewood fingerboard.

The electronics combine two Fender Custom Hand-Wound Poblano Stratocaster Single-Coils and one Fender Custom Hand-Wound Fat ’60s Stratocaster Single-Coil RWRP, offering a wide tonal range with bright and defined sounds, fuller mids, and reduced noise in the intermediate positions thanks to the RWRP configuration.
