Some Stratocasters just have that look, and this 2015 Squier Classic Vibe ’50s is definitely one of them.
Finished in Sherwood Green Metallic with a matching painted headstock, this is a seriously good-looking Strat. The deep metallic green, vintage-tinted maple neck, and aged cream plastics give it a classic Fender-era personality that you don’t see on every Squier. It’s the kind of guitar that catches your attention before you’ve even plugged it in.
But there’s more here than looks. These earlier Chinese-made Classic Vibe Strats earned a following for delivering a lot of guitar for the money. With an alder body, comfortable modern C-shaped maple neck, and vintage-style Alnico III single-coil pickups, this one has the ingredients that make a great Stratocaster so appealing.
The three single-coils give you that familiar range of Strat tones: warm and rounded at the neck, glassy and chimey in the in-between positions, and plenty of bite from the bridge. Whether you’re playing blues, classic rock, surf, indie, or something with a little more edge, there’s a lot of versatility in this traditional setup.
I especially like the combination of the vintage styling with the more modern 9.5-inch fingerboard radius. You get the classic Strat character without being locked into a strictly vintage playing feel.
This guitar has been played and shows some cosmetic wear, including a noticeable small finish ding along the side of the body, as photographed. There is also some age-related cosmetic wear around the hardware and plastics. Please review the detailed photos for its overall condition.
What really sets this one apart is the Sherwood Green Metallic finish carried all the way onto the headstock. It’s a distinctive version of the Classic Vibe ’50s that deserves a closer look if you appreciate vintage-inspired Fender styling.
