Roland Juno-6 Synthesizer - 1983 - Tested & Fully Functional - A GEM!
PLEASE MAKE AN OFFER! Let's make a deal!
Up for sale is a Roland Juno-6 synthesizer, dated by serial code to February 1983. It is fully working, tested, and sounds AMAZING! Only selling because my folks are moving and it needs to go to a new home finally.
SHORT STORY:
See the video - all keys work, all functions work, and overall the cosmetic condition is quite good for a synth that is over 40 years old. There are some cosmetic blemishes like decades old paint that was spilled on it and recently removed, chips to the wooden end caps, and things like that - but all knobs, sliders, keys and the interior are in great shape. The sliders would benefit from some appropriate fader cleaner or refurbishment, but they still work fine - some smoother than others, but nothing is dead or non-functioning - just not "buttery smooth" as it could be. That said, this synth is a "survivor" and has a lot of life left in it! Was serviced at some point around mid-2000s.
SLIGHTLY LONGER STORY:
This synth was purchased from Richard's Music in Lawrence, KS sometime around 2005. It had a few dead keys so we took it to local tube-amp/keyboard repair guru Tom (forget his last name...) around that time and the keyboard has never given us trouble since. We used it for some gigging and mainly sat in our practice space in a climate controlled home. For the last 15 years or so it has been happily sitting under a bed in a climate controlled home with occasional use. It was recently taken out and run through its paces - still incredible!
All keys work, all functions work, and there is no significant damage anywhere, just some chipping and abrasion on the wooden end panels. When we bought it 20 years ago it had house paint dripped on it, which we just lived with for the last 20 years. However, I recently discovered that it comes right off with some sticky tape - so 99% of that has been removed and it only has left very faint finish changes on the chassis. These spots show up very well in the pictures, but honestly aren't that apparent in person. There are a few drops of paint on some of the black keys, which I could not easily remove, just FYI.
As said above, the sliders would benefit from some proper contact cleaner and fader lubrication (Deoxit F5), and possibly refurbishment - but that is only if you want it to be 'as good as new'. All the faders work fine, some are a bit crunchier than others, but for instance, the arpeggio slider feels almost as good as new, and even the worst ones (HPF) aren't that bad. Just trying to be transparent and tell you everything I can think of. Some of the sliders will drop out if pressed to the extreme up or down position - which is common for old sliders - again, refurbishment or thorough cleaning will fix it right up - but not a deal breaker by any means.
CONCLUSION:
PLEASE MAKE AN OFFER! Needless to say, this is the 120V North American version. Please feel free to ask questions - happy to chat about the synth.
If you are reading this, the synth is already securely packaged and just waiting to be sent via UPS with appropriate insurance applied.
