The 1980 Ibanez ST-100 Studio is a vintage solid-body electric guitar manufactured in Japan by the highly regarded FujiGen factory. Positioned as a more affordable set-neck alternative to the premium neck-through Musician series, the Studio (ST) line is famous for its distinct late-70s aesthetic, multi-wood sandwiched body construction, and high-quality Japanese craftsmanship.
Specifications
- Body Construction: Double-cutaway body featuring a maple center block flanked by mahogany outer blocks, separated by elegant, thin strips of walnut.
- Neck & Fingerboard: Laminated maple set-neck sporting a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard adorned with pearloid dot inlay markers. It has a traditional 25.5" scale length.
- Pickups: Powered by two high-output Ibanez V2 humbuckers with eye-catching exposed cream bobbins, housed in cream pickup rings.
- Controls: Simple setup consisting of a master volume and a master tone control, a 3-way toggle switch, and a face-mounted output jack.
- Hardware: Fitted with a Tune-o-matic-style Gibraltar fixed bridge, a convenient Quik Change tailpiece, and smooth VelveTune II machine heads
