The ’61 SG Standard recreates the early version of Gibson’s double-cutaway solidbody, with the slim body, small pickguard, and large control layout associated with the original design. This 2006 VOS example has an Antique White finish, with a Mahogany body and neck, Rosewood fingerboard, and a pair of Burstbuckers. The VOS treatment gives the hardware and finish a lightly aged appearance, while the simple combination of nickel hardware and cream appointments keeps the look clean. It’s a nicely executed early-’60s style SG from Gibson’s Custom Shop of vintage-inspired reissues.Includes OHSC and COA.
