Epiphone Sheraton II – 1999 – Samick Korea – Vintage Sunburst – (NOS)New Old Stock
A beautiful 1999 Epiphone Sheraton II, manufactured at the highly regarded Samick factory in Korea, presented in remarkable New Old Stock condition.
With serial number S99045515, this guitar dates to April 1999, placing it firmly within the sought-after Korean production period of the Sheraton II. The guitar has been carefully stored for more than 25 years and remains in exceptionally well-preserved condition, retaining its original factory stickers, including the Gibson USA strings sticker and original barcode/model identification label.
One of the particularly desirable features of these Korean-made Sheratons is the substantial five-piece maple/mahogany/maple set neck, paired with a bound rosewood fingerboard and the distinctive pearl/abalone block-and-triangle inlays. A documented 1999 Sheraton II from the same production period carries this same neck construction.
The semi-hollow body features laminated maple construction with a center block, elegant multi-ply binding, bound F-holes and the classic Sheraton double-cutaway profile. The Vintage Sunburst finish is beautifully preserved, with a deep amber/brown center transitioning into the darker outer edges.
The guitar retains the elaborate Epiphone “Tree of Life” headstock inlay, one of the defining visual features of the Sheraton, together with its large bound headstock and ornate block-and-triangle fingerboard inlays.
Electronics consist of the traditional Sheraton configuration of two humbucking pickups, individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup and a three-way selector switch. The instrument is fitted with its original-style bridge and stopbar tailpiece.
What makes this particular example especially attractive is its condition. Rather than being a typical used late-1990s Sheraton, this is a remarkably preserved New Old Stock example from the Korean Samick production era, still displaying its original retail/factory stickers.
