Yamaha YAS-62III Alto Saxophone – Excellent Condition, Freshly Serviced, Perfectly In Tune, Ready to Play, Priced to Sell

This Yamaha YAS-62III alto is in excellent playing shape, and it sounds incredible. What keeps it at excellent instead of near mint is a few normal scratches and scuffs from regular use. None of that changes the sound. A few days ago it went through a professional service. I play tested it several times after that, not just a quick blow. It’s in tune. Tone holes are in great shape. Pads are sealing with no leaks. The voice is that current 62 sound — centered, with a quicker response than the older 62s, and enough body when you push it.

The keys feel even and the springs come back quickly without feeling stiff. Soft notes speak instead of hanging, and the upper end stays focused instead of getting thin. Low notes open up without a fight. After the service and those extra play tests, it feels finished. You can put a reed on and play. It doesn’t need another shop visit first.

The YAS-62III is Yamaha’s current professional 62 alto, the one a lot of players step up to from a 26 or 480. Same 62 idea people already know, with the newer neck and a tighter, more even response. These show up in jazz, classical, and serious school playing because they stay in tune and don’t turn into a project. An excellent playing one is a different listing than a 62 that’s been passed around a band room for years.

One of the zippers on the back of the case isn’t latching, but the other one still operates well, so that’s no concern. The magnet on the front of the case is missing, but the strap still fits through the handle and the case still closes fine with the main zippers. Three brand new Vandoren reeds are included. If you want an excellent 62III that’s already been serviced, checked more than once, and sounds incredible, this one’s ready. It’s priced to sell. Happy to answer questions!
