About this listing:
Line 6 Variax 500, first generation.
Original Sunburst finish, Made in Korea.

Listed in Excellent Condition. This guitar was a house cat, seeing only very light home studio use. Carefully stored. There is only one very slight cosmetic flaw on the lower edge of the front which was that way when I bought it from Guitar Center, Chicago in 2004 (see photo). I selected this one over several others at the store based on how great it sounded acoustically. It really zings. Overall it has been extremely well preserved. Action is great and it’s a very playable guitar in its own right.

Ships with the complete original accessories, including the case, power supply and original Variax accessories. Also includes special cable to connect direct to a Line 6 Modeler like the POD XT Live.

The Variax 500 is one of the most interesting models from the first generation of Line 6 Variax guitars, featuring the original Variax modeling system capable of recreating a wide range of different guitar sounds and instruments. Ideal for studio use.

History:
Over the years I have enjoyed using this guitar in my personal home studio. Especially fun for me were the Sitar and Dobro models. I also paired this with a PodXT Live amp and effects modeler and found that I could get a great, very original lead guitar sound by running the Dobro model into a cranked Marshall. It was kind of Strat like, but a little different. I also really enjoyed the 12 string Rickenbacker, and the ability to store alternate tunings and have them available at the twist of a knob. These days I have acquired a lot of the actual guitars modeled on this axe and found I was no longer using it as much.
