For your consideration is a 2000 Fender Standard Stratocaster in Midnight Wine finish with a rosewood fingerboard. This made-in-Mexico Stratocaster carries serial number MZ0225653 and features the familiar combination of a contoured solid body, bolt-on maple neck and traditional three-pickup Stratocaster layout.

The guitar is equipped with three Fender Standard single-coil pickups, a five-way selector switch, one master-volume control and two tone controls. Additional appointments include a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard, vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge, Fender-branded sealed tuning machines, three-ply white pickguard and chrome hardware. The original-style screw-in tremolo arm is included.

This guitar is in good pre-owned condition while showing cosmetic wear consistent with previous use. Wear includes surface scratches, scuffs, small dents, cracked areas of finish, and impressions throughout the body. There is a prominent area of chipped finish along the lower body edge near the output-jack area, along with several smaller finish chips. Hairline finish cracks/checking are also visible around portions of the neck-pocket area. These areas have been photographed closely for reference.

Additional wear includes small dings and finish loss around the edges of the headstock, scratches around the body contours, pickguard wear and oxidation or discoloration on portions of the bridge, saddles, screws, tuner hardware and pickup pole pieces. The frets show evidence of previous use. No repaired headstock break, major body separation or obvious neck misalignment was observed.

The Midnight Wine finish retains an attractive deep burgundy appearance and considerable gloss despite the cosmetic imperfections. This would make a solid player’s Stratocaster for someone who values the feel and sound of an early-2000s Mexican Standard and does not mind visible play wear and cosmetic blemishes.

Please review all photographs carefully for the complete cosmetic condition of the guitar and the most accurate representation of what is included.
