2000 Marshall JCM2000 DSL100

A very clean example of a year 2000 Marshall JCM2000 DSL100, one of the most useful and enduring high-gain valve heads Marshall produced during this period.

This particular example is in excellent condition and has clearly been well looked after. It has been fully workshop inspected and is functioning perfectly. Our example has a few light scuffs and signs of use, but we think it is excellent for the year. The DSL100 has earned its reputation for good reason — it manages to cover an impressive amount of ground, from classic Marshall crunch through to properly saturated high-gain territory, whilst retaining that familiar British character and feel.

With 100 watts of EL34-powered Marshall muscle, there’s no shortage of volume or headroom here. The clean channel has plenty of authority and responds nicely to pedals, whilst the overdrive channel delivers the classic Marshall thing: punchy mids, plenty of bite and that satisfying compression as you turn it up.

The two-channel layout and independent gain/volume controls make it a very practical amplifier, but there’s also plenty of tonal flexibility from the Deep and Tone Shift functions. It can go from big, open and crunchy to tighter and more aggressive without losing the underlying Marshall character.

The DSL100 is particularly good at doing that late-'60s/’70s Marshall thing at one end of the spectrum, whilst having more than enough gain on tap for heavier rock and modern applications.

This is a great example of an early JCM2000 DSL100 — powerful, versatile and built to be used. An excellent choice for anyone looking for genuine EL34 Marshall tone without going down the vintage route.
