The New Audix D6X at Drum Center of Portsmouth The Top Choice for Bottom End!

The D6X is a versatile dynamic instrument microphone that builds on the renowned legacy of the D6, a highly acclaimed choice for stage, studio, and broadcast applications.

Lightweight, compact, and easy to position, the D6X features a cardioid pickup pattern and is ideal for capturing instruments that require extended low-frequency reproduction, such as kick drums, large toms, and bass cabinets.

A key innovation of the D6X is its intuitive switch, which offers three distinct sound profiles:

• Deep (Bottom Position): Preserves the signature D6 sound—deep, punchy, and designed to cut through the mix.
• Balanced (Center Position): Provides a more even frequency response with enhanced mids and upper mids, making it well-suited for traditional kick drum tones while maintaining the D6’s signature impact.
• Natural (Top Position): Adjusts the microphone’s response for a more linear sound, emphasizing midrange frequencies and subtly modifying the high-end roll-off. This setting makes it ideal for a variety of sources, including percussion, guitar cabinets, and other instruments.

This advanced flexibility is powered by our proprietary VLM (Very Low Mass) dynamic capsule technology, housed in a durable, compact design with a transformerless, low-impedance architecture to ensure clean, interference-free performance.
