I purchased this beauty back in July as a 50th bday gift for myself -- something I had been eyeing for a long time and watching for it to come back in stock as not many are made. Unfortunately, arthritis leaves me unable to play and enjoy it. So, I'm hoping to pass it on to someone who will appreciate it and make good use of it -- give it a good home. It is essentially Mint. I've taken it out a few times to break in the strings a bit, but otherwise it remained in its case with a humidity pack.

This is a new, unique, warm, and wonderful baritone from Pono. It has a 21.4" scale. It's a smaller body and shorter scale than a tenor guitar (and it's nylon stringed), but it's larger than a baritone. Pono describes the inspiration for their UL series guitars-

"In the 1800's guitar makers migrated from Europe to the eastern United States.  Some of their first designs were what we today refer to as 'parlor' guitars.  Big guitars were not yet on the market.  The most common sizes had an 11" to 13" wide body width.

Small size guitars produce a sparkling tone, a chime, and somewhat of a natural reverberating sustain.  In the early to mid 1900's a few guitar manufacturers produced similar size 'parlor' guitars.  The Li'i is the body width of what was known as a Style 2, and the 'Uku Li'i a Style 5."

This instrument is a throwback to those first guitars, except with 4 strings. It has the baritone tuning and sound but with more punch and sustaining overtones, especially on this new ABS (advanced bracing system) model.

This features a lattice style bracing and graduated top like the Master Series from Pono giving this already great sounding model a new level of body and richness to the sound. This type of build has been pioneered by a few high end classical luthiers and it really works well on this unique size.

This big baritone ukulele has a wonderful warm tone in no small part to the western red cedar soundboard and the gorgeous rosewood sides and back. It has a radius fretboard, ebony appointments and bindings, and a classy slotted headstock.

Pono only uses solid woods, bone nut and saddle, and wood bindings. No plastics. They have a a climate-controlled factory on the island of Java and diligently aim for perfection. It shows!
