The Yamaha QX1 Digital Sequence Recorder is a heavy-duty, legendary 8-track MIDI sequencer that was the crown jewel of Yamaha’s flagship 1980s FM synthesis system.This specific unit has been meticulously cared for and thoroughly bench-tested using the factory internal hardware diagnostics mode. It is 100% operational from a system standalone standpoint.
The original factory cardboard dummy transport sheet was kept securely inserted and locked inside the disk drive the entire time the unit was in storage

• System Diagnostics: PASS. The internal RAM and ROM test routines execute flawlessly and return full "OK/PASS" statuses.
• Control Surface & Buttons: 100% Functional. Every single physical tactile button switch and numeric key on the front panel was individually tested in Key Test mode and registers perfectly.
• Display & LEDs: Bright, crisp, and clear display text with no bleeding. All front panel status LEDs illuminate perfectly.
• Floppy Disk Drive: The original 5.25" Canon drive mechanism is entirely intact and clean. The drive latch engages perfectly. The mechanical drive itself remains untested with physical media as we do not have a formatted 5.25" DS/DD system setup disk.
