Description
The Fostex 3010 has 32 RCA jacks on front panel and 32 RCA jacks on rear panel. The 3010 can process 32 mono sources or 16 stereo sources. This Fostex patch bay is half-normalled meaning that in the back of the rack, each top RCA jack (input) is automatically routed to the bottom RCA jack (output). This is true of all rear panel 16 pairs of RCA connectors. The purpose of this configuration is that your audio devices can be permanently connected to your mixer via the back panel. Normally, nothing or few cables are plugged into the front RCA jacks. They are used when it becomes necessary or desirable to tap off the outputs of your connected audio devices (top RCA front panel jack) or to override input signals to your mixer via bottom RCA front panel jack. Again, this type of unit has the benefit of setting up your routing between audio devices and mixer permanently from the back panel, allowing you to make fast patch changes from the front panel.
