Up for sale is a beautiful, highly resonant 1967 Höfner 500/1 "Beatle Bass" in overall Good Condition.

The bass features the iconic, original vintage violin two-tone tobacco sunburst finish and is packed with unmistakable 1960s character, incredible natural relic styling, and that legendary, woody thump made famous by Sir Paul McCartney.

It is equipped with the original, highly sought-after blade pickups that were introduced in 1967 which deliver exceptional warmth, clarity, and true vintage output. It is currently strung with a fresh set of Ernie Ball Cobalt Flatwound strings for a perfect blend of vintage thump and modern clarity.

Despite a missing production label, usually found under the control panel inside of the body, it has clear indicators for being a 1967 produced instrument, starting with the aforementioned blade pickups, the highly desirable raised Höfner logo, a hallmark of this era, applied last in 1967, and pot codes date that date this instrument securely to 1967.

This bass is a true survivor with an abundance of vintage vibe. The gorgeous two-tone tobacco finish features noticeable authentic finish checking and crazing lines, mostly on the front of the body. There are no structural cracks or compromises to the wood — just decades of genuine finish checking that gives it an incredible, honest relic look that modern custom shops try hard to replicate.

The sound is incredible and the lightweight body makes it a joy to be played. And even though the action is a bit higher than what one might be used to from any lately produced modern instrument, this vintage player fits the bill with tons of mojo all around.

The bass ships in a period-correct, contoured aftermarket hardshell case. While the pleather cover of the handle itself is somewhat compromised, it still holds together and can be put to use. Some of latches have clasp alignment issues due to the slightly deformed ABS case, but overall it still functions properly to protect the bass during storage and transit.

Don't miss the chance to own a piece of rock 'n' roll history, grab this '67 Höfner today and bring that timeless British Invasion low-end to your studio or stage!
